I have been coming to see Ash the Hygienist since 2016 and I would highly recommend her. She always has a happy and positive demeanour which immediately relaxes you. She’s very personable and easy to talk too which makes the whole experience better. Ash works hard during the sessions, updating you on what she finds and giving good advice along the way. I always come away feeling like my mouth is very clean. In addition to this, all of the staff at the surgery are polite and welcoming and I have absolutely no complaints.

Gum disease is caused by plaque. Plaque is a film of bacteria that forms on the surface of the teeth and gums every day. Many of the bacteria in plaque are completely harmless, but there are some that have been shown to be the main cause of gum disease. To prevent and treat gum disease, you need to make sure you remove all the plaque from your teeth every day. This is done by brushing and flossing. Flossing is a technique that many patients find very difficult to carry out on a daily basis. Our friendly hygienist will help and show you how to do this at home
If you neglect this you may find your gums get sore, leading to gum abscesses and pus may ooze out. Teeth can be lost through this and if left untreated the treatment can become more difficult.
It is recommended that you come in for regular dental hygiene in Chingford to ensure your mouth stays clean and healthy. Your Hygienist can also provide advice on diet and how to care for your teeth and gums properly at home.
